Santa and Mrs. Claus and a band of merry elves paraded through the streets of Galena Park during the evening of Monday, Dec. 15 to collect canned goods and non-perishable food items to help the local food pantry.
The event called “Stuff the Bus” featured Principal Lance Lyles as Santa and Assistant Principal Lecia Eubanks as Mrs. Claus. The elves were comprised of teachers, aides, counselors and other staff members. Santa and Mrs. Claus had their picture made with the children of anyone who donated at least one canned good.
The event was a big success as approximately 1,000 cans of food were collected in just one evening. All donated food items were sent to the Galena Park food pantry.
